Design Changes to the Electronic Thermostat on C175-16 Generator Set Engines {135V, 4490, 5927}

Usage:

C175-16 WYB
Generator Set:
C175-16 (S/N: WYB1-UP)

ReferenceSpecial Instruction, REHS7404, "Protecting the C175 Electronic Thermostat from Moisture Entry"

Description of Change: The following design changes have been made to the electronic thermostat:

  • Improved press fit for the drive pin in the motor mount assembly

  • Improved RTV sealant application between the motor housing and the cover

  • A new motor that uses a single harness cable with potting material in the connector rather than dual cables

  • Heat shrink tubing between the motor harness connector and the temperature control module

  • Added a fitting and a line to allow water to drain in case of moisture entry into the motor cavity

Adaptable To:

The changes to the 286-4571 Thermostatic Valve Gp (ELECTRONIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL) are effective with WYB00668.

The changes to the 286-4571 Thermostatic Valve Gp (ELECTRONIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL) are adaptable to C175-16 Generator Set Engines back to first production.

For information on retrofitting the design changes, refer to the publication that is referenced above.
