Oil Leakage Around the Injector Wiring Harness on Certain C12 Marine and Certain 3176C Machine Engines{1290, 1408, 1900} Caterpillar

Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is found, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Issues have been reported of oil leaks at the injector wiring harness connection to the valve cover base. The leaks occur around the 12 pin connector at the integral seal.

Solution

If a leak is detected on the 4P-9537 Wiring Harness , pictures must be taken prior to disassembly clearly showing the leak. During disassembly take additional pictures to show the cause of the leak. Attach the pictures that were taken into Service Information Management System (SIMS).
