Wear Plates - Remove and Install

Usage:

H110E S HHB

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the hydraulic hammer from the housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Hammer - Remove".

  1. Inspect the wear plates for excessive wear. Refer to Service Manual, "Wear Plates" for the specifications of the plates. If the wear plates are worn excessively or the plates are damaged, the wear plates must be replaced.

  2. By reaching through the bottom of the hammer housing, use a suitable prybar to remove plates (1) to be replaced.

  3. Alternatively, wear plates (1) can be rotated to extend component life.

  4. Remove bottom damper (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement, if necessary.

  2. Install bottom damper (2). If installing new wear plates (1), place the wear plates into position on the pins in the lower end of hammer housing. Ensure that the wear plates do not cover any openings.

  3. Press or tap the new plates onto the pins in the housing.

  4. Alternatively, wear plates (1) can be rotated to extend component life.

End By:

  1. Install the hydraulic hammer into the hammer housing. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Hammer - Install".
