Compression Brake
Cat 压缩制动器旨在通过保持排气门打开，在整个发动机循环期间保持恒定的排气门升程。 在活塞到达压缩冲程上止点前保持排气门打开可产生一定数量的负扭矩。 负扭矩有助于减速发动机。

通过使用机油移动保持排气门 (2) 打开的执行器 (1)，可以实现制动。 排气门移动仍然由凸轮轴启动。 在正常操作下，排气门通常完全闭合。 当需要制动时，Cat 压缩制动器将阻止气门完全闭合。

每个 Cat 压缩制动器执行器包括一个活塞 (4)，负责接触气门桥，并阻止排气门完全闭合。 发动机机油回油管 (4) 包括单向阀 (3)。 当强制排气门保持开启时，单向阀将阻止发动机机油流回供油油轨。 在气缸的进气、压缩和作功冲程期间，气门将保持开启。
