(1) Ice found in the jacket water cooling system

Ice has been found in the jacket water cooling systems and in the separate circuit cooling systems upon delivery of the generator sets at dealerships.

The drain plugs for the water pumps and oil cooler bonnets were installed after the engines were tested. Residual water remained trapped in the cooling systems and the water froze in cold ambient temperatures during delivery.

Solution

No visual indications of external damages have been found. However, pressure testing of the cooling systems is recommended in order to determine if damage has occurred.

Until a permanent solution is found, the plugs are being removed from the cooling systems prior to delivery. Plugs the pumps for the jacket water and separate circuit systems and from the oil cooler are placed in bags. The bags are attached to the vibration damper guards.
