1. Install cartridge (25). Apply Tooling (A) onto orifice (24). Install orifice (24). Tighten orifice (24) to a torque of 2 +0.5 - 0.0 N·m (18 +4 -0 lb in).

   Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

2. Install spring (23), spool assembly (22), O-ring seal (21), and plug (20). Tighten plug (20) to a torque of 25 ± 5 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft).

3. Install ball (19). Install stop (18). Tighten stop (17) to a torque of 19 ± 4 N·m (14 ± 3 lb ft).

4. Install O-ring seals (17). Install coil assembly (16). Install nut (15). Tighten nut (15) to a torque of 13 ± 1.5 N·m (115 ± 13 lb in).

5. Install solenoid valve (14). Tighten solenoid valve (14) to a torque of 50 ± 5 N·m (37 ± 4 lb ft). Install O-ring seal (13) and O-ring seal (12).

6. Install plate (11) and reducing valve (10). Install bolts (9). Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).

7. Install spring (8) and stop (7).

8. Install spool (6), spring (5), and slug (4).

9. Install O-ring seal (3), plate (2), and bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).

1. Install the retarder hydraulic control valve.
