Power modules that are powered by natural gas are equipped with methane gas detectors. The detectors are located above the engine. When the percentage of hydrocarbon in the air rises above 30 percent of the lower explosive level (LEL), the power module will shut down. The unit will also sound an alarm for a hazardous environment. The detector must be calibrated whenever the power module is set up. The detector must also be calibrated whenever there is a change in the fuel supply. For information regarding the calibration of the methane detector, refer to the instructions that are included in the calibration tool.
