Note: The old position of the bushing protrudes out of the alternator. The new position of the bushing is located in a recess in the alternator. The new position of the bushing is aligned with the alternator bracket.

There have been a number of isolated instances of issues with the bushing on the alternator. Under certain conditions, the bushing can wear away the alternator bracket. This can result in the following issues.
