Exhaust Manifold - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove the turbocharger.

  1. Remove clamp (1) and nuts (3). Remove elbow (2).

  2. Remove tube assembly (4).

  3. Remove locknuts (5) and exhaust manifold (6).

  4. Remove gaskets (8) and studs (7).

  5. Separate manifolds (9) and (11) from manifold (10). Remove studs (12).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install exhaust manifold (6) in reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to male ends of manifolds (9) and (11).

    2. Apply Tooling (B) to studs (12) and (7). Tighten studs (12) and (7) to a torque of 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft).

    3. Install gaskets (8) so that the tabs are down.

    4. Tighten locknuts (5) and (3) to a torque of 70 ± 5 N·m (52 ± 4 lb ft) in a numerical sequence.
