Introduction
The Special Instruction, REHS3882 is for the installation of the 260-8015 Front Lines Gp (MEDIUM PRESSURE). If you need more information about the installation of the pilot lines on your machine, consult your Caterpillar dealer.
Safety Section
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil. Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system. Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. |
Do not operate or work on this machine unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation and Maintenance Manuals. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Contact your Cat dealer for replacement manuals. Proper care is your responsibility. |

Setting Relief Pressure
Set relief pressure after hydraulic kit has been completely installed. The relief valve is part of the medium pressure valve block (3). In order to set the relief pressure of the attachment valve, connect a flow meter to the stick lines. Actuate the auxiliary circuit. Observe the pressure indicated on the pressure gauge. Adjust the set screw on the relief valve until the desired relief pressure is reached. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the work tool in order to find the recommended pressure settings of the work tool.
