Use the following procedure in order to tighten the fuel lines group (5) and fuel lines (6) :

  1. Install a new fuel line (6) . Hand tighten the fuel line nuts (7) on each end of the fuel line. Repeat for the remaining fuel lines.

  1. Install clamps (1) , (2) , (3) , and (4) for the fuel lines and hand tighten the bolts. Make sure that the rubber grommets are in place in clamps (1) , (2) , (3) , and (4) .

  1. Ensure that the outer diameter of the fuel lines are centered with the inner diameter of the nuts prior to tightening. Do not use excessive force or bending in order to assemble the fuel lines.

  1. Tighten the fuel line nut (7) at the fuel rail to a torque of 27 ± 3 N·m (240 ± 27 lb in). Repeat for all the cylinders.

  1. Tighten the fuel line nut (7) at the quill assembly to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (135 ± 27 lb in). Then, turn the fuel line nut in the clockwise direction to 60 ± 5 degrees. Repeat for all the cylinders.

  1. Tighten the fuel line nut at the pump and the quill assembly to 15 ± 3 N·m (135 ± 27 lb in). Then, turn the fuel line nut in the clockwise direction to 60 ± 5 degrees.

  1. Tighten the bolts for clamps (1) , (2) , (3) , and (4) to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (105 ± 27 lb in).
