C6.6 Marine Generator Set Caterpillar

Speed Demand Input Setup

Usage:

C6.6 C6T
Use the electronic service tool to program the desired engine speed (1500 rpm or 1800 rpm) into the Electronic Control Module (ECM).

There is an optional input that can be used for phase synchronization and for load-sharing. The optional input is provided through one of the following methods:

  • On a genset with an EMCP3 control panel, the input is provided from the control panel through the J1939 (CAN1) data link.

  • On a genset with an MCS control panel, the input is provided by a PWM converter.

The Electronic Control Module (ECM) must be programmed for the type of input that is being used.

The input is set up using the electronic service tool. From the menu, select "Service". On the "Service" screen, select the following parameters:

  • "Configuration"

  • "I/O Configuration Parameters"

  • "Desired Speed Input Configuration"

For a genset with an EMCP3 control panel, select "CAN Input". For a genset with an MCS control panel, select "PWM".
