Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal at the battery.

Illustration 1 g01522238 - Loosen allen head screw (11). Disconnect harness assembly (4) from electronic control module (7).
- Disconnect hose assembly (6).
- Remove bolts (1), nuts (2), and bracket assembly (5).
- Remove bolts (8) and nuts (3) from electronic control module (7). Remove electronic control module (7), the washers, the isolation mounts, and the spacers. Disconnect grounding strap (9).
- Remove the bolts and bracket assembly (10), if necessary.

- Install bracket assembly (10) and the bolts, if necessary.
- Position electronic control module (7), the washers, the isolation mounts, and the spacers on the engine. Connect grounding strap (9). Install bolts (8) and nuts (3) on electronic control module (7).
- Install bracket assembly (5), nuts (2), and bolts (1).
- Connect hose assembly (6).
- Connect harness assembly (4) to electronic control module (7). Tighten allen head screw (11).
- Connect the negative battery terminal at the battery.
