Housing (Front) - Remove

Usage:

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the speed/timing sensor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Speed/Timing Sensor - Remove and Install".

  2. Remove the fan drive, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Remove".

  3. Remove the fuel filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Filter Base - Remove and Install".

  4. Remove the unit injector hydraulic pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Unit Injector Hydraulic Pump - Remove".

  5. Remove the auxiliary water pump, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".

  6. Remove the air compressor, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Compressor - Remove and Install".

  7. Remove the crankshaft front seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal - Remove".

  8. Remove the camshaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Camshaft - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove bolts (1) that fasten front housing (3) to the cylinder block.

  2. Remove bolts (2) that fasten the engine oil pan to the front housing.

  3. Remove front housing (3) from the cylinder block.

    Note: If necessary, hit the front housing with a soft faced hammer in order to separate the front housing from the cylinder block.
