Introduction

The supplemental product support literature should be used with the appropriate Service Manual and the appropriate Parts Manual that is available for each standard machine. This supplement is used to determine the difference between the custom modifications and a standard machine.
The Service Manual and the Parts Manual that is available for the standard machine should be used if the service information is not in this supplementary product support literature.
Operation

Transmission Neutralizer Override Switch (1) - The transmission neutralizer override switch is a two-position switch. |
Move the switch to the upper position to deactivate the transmission neutralizer. The service brake and transmission neutralizer pedal will now operate as a conventional service brake pedal.
Move the switch to the lower position to activate the transmission neutralizer. When the service brake and transmission neutralizer pedal is depressed, the service brake will apply and the transmission will be disengaged. This will allow the operator to increase engine speed for improved hydraulic performance.
Transmission Neutralizer Function

(1) Service brake and transmission neutralizer pedal (2) Transmission neutralizer limit switch |
The transmission neutralizer limit switch (2) is located in the operator station and is activated by depressing service brake and transmission neutralizer pedal (1) .
When the service brake and transmission neutralizer pedal is depressed, the normally closed contacts of transmission neutralizer limit switch open. The open contacts interrupt the power from the Power Train ECM. This causes the Power Train ECM to neutralize the transmission. The engine rpm will increase when the transmission is neutralized due to the no-load condition from the transmission. This allows full hydraulic power for work tool operation.
Illustration 4 | g01469756 |
The transmission neutralizer override switch (3) is an input to the Power Train ECM. The input is used by the Power Train ECM to determine if the transmission neutralizer should be enabled or disabled.
When the machine is started, the transmission neutralizer is enabled.
Note: When the transmission is neutralized, the gear indicator shows the speed that is selected and the direction will show neutral.

Transmission neutralizer Limit switch |
The transmission neutralizer limit switch is an input of the Power Train Electronic Control Module (ECM). The transmission neutralizer limit switch is a two-position limit switch. The transmission neutralizer limit switch informs the Power Train ECM when the service brake and transmission neutralizer pedal is depressed.
When the transmission neutralizer limit switch is activated (brake pedal pressed), the switch is open. When the switch is open (not grounded), the Power Train ECM neutralizes the transmission. When the transmission neutralizer limit switch is deactivated (brake pedal released), the switch closes contact J2-4 of the Power Train ECM to ground. The COM terminal is connected to frame ground. The N/C terminal of the switch is not used.
Transmission Neutralizer Override Switch
Illustration 6 | g01470134 |
The transmission neutralizer override switch is an input to the Power Train Electronic Control Module (ECM). The transmission neutralizer override switch has two positions. The ON position and the OFF position.
The transmission neutralizer override switch signals the Power Train ECM to enable/disable the neutralizing function of the left brake pedal.
When the transmission neutralizer override switch is in the ON position, contact J2-4 of the Power Train ECM is always grounded. This overrides the operation of the transmission neutralizer limit switch on the left brake pedal and stops the transmission neutralizer function. When the transmission neutralizer override switch is in the OFF position, the transmission neutralizer limit switch on the left brake pedal operates as normal.
