The supplemental product support literature should be used with the appropriate Service Manual and the appropriate Parts Manual that is available for each standard machine. This supplement is used to determine the difference between the custom modifications and a standard machine.

The Service Manual and the Parts Manual that is available for the standard machine should be used if the service information is not in this supplementary product support literature.

Procedure to Engage the Locking Pins for the Front Wheels

Note: Perform the following procedure in order to evenly distribute the weight of the paver and screed. This weight distribution enables the machine to travel on the road. This procedure should be performed in order to drive the machine from one job site to another job site.

    (1) Lock bars

  1. Fully raise the screed to the TRAVEL position and engage the lock bars (1). Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Screed Travel Lock" for the correct procedure.

    (2) Lock pins

  1. Fully raise the hopper and engage lock pins (2) for the hopper. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Hopper Travel Lock" for the correct procedure.

  1. Move the machine to a flat, level surface.

    (4) Operating mode selector

  1. Move propel lever (3) to the NEUTRAL position.

  1. Move operating mode selector (4) to the STANDBY position.

    (5) Parking brake control

    (6) Speed control knob

  1. Depress parking brake control (5) in order to engage the parking brake.

  1. Press speed control knob (6) in order to reduce the engine speed to MINIMUM.

    (7) Ramps

  1. Ramps (7) are provided with the machine.

  1. Position ramps (7) in front of the front wheels on both sides of the machine.

  1. Move the selector for propel speed (8) to the SLOW position.

  1. Disengage the parking brake.

  1. Move operating mode selector (4) to the MANUAL position.

  1. Use propel lever (3) to slowly move the machine forward until the front two wheels are fully on the flat surface of ramps (7) .

  1. Move propel lever (3) to the NEUTRAL position and engage the parking brake.

  1. Move operating mode selector (4) to the STANDBY position.

  1. Loosen locking knob (9) and move locking pins (10) for the front wheels to the internal side of the machine.

  1. Tighten locking knob (9) in order to lock front wheels locking pins in position.

    (5) Parking brake control

  1. Pull parking brake control (5) in order to disengage the parking brake for the machine.

  1. Move operating mode selector (4) to the MANUAL position.

  1. Slowly move propel lever (3) to REVERSE. Slowly lower the machine from the ramps to the ground.


    NOTICE

    When traveling on public roads use slow speed in order to avoid damage to the front wheel bearings.



    NOTICE

    Lower the front wheels to the working position before paving.


  1. Reverse this procedure in order to lower the front wheels to the working position.
