The Zig Zag circuit breaker (CB2) is mounted on the floor above the large transformer in 4-wire installations. The CB2 is located on the lower right panel in 3-wire installations.

Removal Procedure (4-Wire)

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Pre-removal Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

  1. Record settings for the breaker.

  2. Disconnect the wires from the Zig Zag circuit breaker (1). Verify the labeling of the wires for subsequent installation.

  3. Remove the screws that hold the breaker (1) to the transformer.

  4. Remove the CB2 (1) from the cabinet.

Removal Procedure (3-Wire)

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Pre-removal Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

  1. Disconnect the wires from the CB2 (2). Verify the labeling of the wires for subsequent installation.

  2. Remove the rail stop on the left side of the Zig Zag circuit breaker (2). The rail stop is removed by loosening the two screws and sliding the rail stop off the rail.

  3. Remove the Zig Zag circuit breaker (2) by sliding the CB2 off the rail.

Installation Procedure (4-Wire)

  1. Verify settings for the breaker.

  2. Position the Zig Zag circuit breaker (1) in place on the transformer. Refer to Illustration 1 for placement.

  3. Attach the breaker (1) to the transformer with screws.

  4. Attach the wires to the Zig Zag circuit breaker (1). Verify the labeling of each wire with the location of the wire.
