New Operation for Painting Marine Engines {1000, 7581}

An improved process for painting marine engines is now in production. The new process for painting the engines prevents fuel leaks from forming around the 149-3239 Fuel Cooler and the 162-9612 Fuel Transfer Pump Gp. The fuel leaks that can develop are caused by the previous process for painting the engines. If a leak develops, replace the failed component with the same part number. Ensure that sea water has not contaminated the fuel system. Circulate clean fuel through the fuel system in order to prevent rust in the injectors. The new process for painting the engines began 25August 2003. The new process for painting the marine engines became effective with the serial number S/N:3GS1809-UP.
