Introduction

This special instruction provides the procedure to replace the 210-7291 Valve As with the 239-0622 Valve As in the climate control system. The new valve increases reliability and service life.

After the modifications have been made, prepare the machine for service. Follow the procedures in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine.

Do not attempt any procedure until you have read all of the information in this special instruction and you understand the information.

Note: For an electrical schematic of the water valve, refer to Schematic, RENR2047 for the D11R and D11R CD and refer to Schematic, RENR8195 for the D10R.

  1. Remove the bolts (A) and access cover (B) for the conditioner on the left side of the machine.

    Illustration 2g01008439

  1. Disconnect harness (C) that is leading to the water valve and remove the harness.

    Illustration 3g01008447

  1. Loosen bolts (D), but do not remove the bolts. This will ease the removal of the water valve.

    Illustration 4g01008448

  1. Remove the water valve, the control assembly and the heater hoses.

    Illustration 5g01008453

  1. Attach hose (6) to valve assembly (2). Secure the hose with a hose clamp. Tighten the clamp to a torque of 4.5 N·m (40 lb in).

Attach valve assembly (2) to bracket assembly (1) with screws (3).

    (10) Harness

  1. Remove the wires (592 PU) from pin 5 of each of the DT connectors in order to route the harness.

    Illustration 18g01008484

  1. Disconnect the potentiometer for the water valve. Insert the first portion of harness (10) between the existing harness and the potentiometer.

    Illustration 19g01008494

  1. Feed the free end of harness (10) through the duct and through grommet (H) under the right console.

  1. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual for your machine in order to remove the floorplate.

    Illustration 21g01008501

  1. The wires (592 PU) were removed from the DT connectors in Step 16. Pull the wires (592 PU) under the cab. Install a wire (592 PU) into pin 5 of each of the DT connectors. Insert wedges (J) in order to complete the harness.

    Illustration 22g01008517

  1. Disconnect the existing six-pin connector from power converter (K) in the right console. Insert the second portion of harness (10) between the existing six-pin connector and power converter (K) .

Note: If the converter does not have a Deutsche DT connector, the connector on harness (10) must be replaced or the power converter must be replaced.

  1. Check for proper operation of the water valve. Secure all of the harnesses with cable straps, as needed. Replace the floorplate. Reassemble the right console.

Note: If additional radios have been added to the cab, the power converter may become overloaded. A new 159-1549 Power Converter that is suitable for higher current may be required for proper operation.

  1. Prepare the machine for service.
