Real time Monitoring
By using the Ethernet Option, multiple users of the UPS View Software that are connected to a local area network (LAN) can monitor the operation of the Caterpillar UPS simultaneously.
Internet Interface
By using the Ethernet Option, the Caterpillar UPS allow the user to monitor the system over the internet through the use of a local area network.
- Network monitoring requires IP address that is statically assigned to the UPS.
- Internet monitoring requires a LAN connection to the internet.
E-mail Notification
Ethernet Connection enables e-mail messages to be broadcast to all users on the receipt list at one time for all Notice events and all Alarm events.
- E-mail requires the Remote Notification option and a connection to a local area network (LAN) with a SMTP e-mail server.
Installation Information for the Ethernet Hubs
Shutdown (Multiple Module System)
Note: Do not leave the system shut down for an extended period of time when this procedure is performed. When the system is shut down, the rotor continues to spin on the bottom bearing. This could cause unnecessary bearing wear.
