Position Sensor (Joystick) |
The base of the joystick contains a sensor that monitors the forward and rearward movement of the joystick. The sensor is a 500 Hz PWM sensor. This sensor continuously generates a PWM signal, in which the duty cycle varies in proportion to the movement of the joystick. The ECM receives the PWM signal on contact 15 (wire K706-BU) and measures the duty cycle to determine the position. When the joystick is in the center position, the duty cycle is 50%. A lower duty cycle corresponds to request for rearward movement. A higher duty cycle corresponds to a request for forward movement. The electrical system provides +battery voltage from the main power relay to the sensor on wire 135-BU.
