Start By:
- Install the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
Follow the recommended procedure for removal and installation of tires and or wheel assemblies. Ensure that the machine and tire and or wheel assembly are properly supported at all times. Improper procedures that are used to remove and install tires and or wheel assemblies can result in personal injury or death. |
Servicing and changing tires and rims can be dangerous. This work must be done only by trained personnel with correct tools and procedures. If correct procedures are not followed while servicing tires and rims, the assemblies can burst with explosive force and cause serious physical injury or death. Follow carefully the specification information provided by your tire servicing person or dealer. |
- Place Tooling (A) under the front chassis. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Jacking Locations" for the correct locations. Use Tooling (A) to lift the front chassis until the weight of the truck is off the front tires and rims. Use Tooling (C) to keep the front suspension cylinder from extending.

- Properly support tire and rim (1). Use Tooling (B) (not shown) to remove three flange nuts (2).
- Use the tire handler to remove tire and rim (1) as a unit. The weight of tire and rim (1) is approximately
3330 kg (7340 lb) . - Repeat Steps 2 through 4 to remove the right front tire and rim.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Note: The following procedure shows the front tire and rim on the right side.
Note: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct tire handling recommendations and tire inflation procedures.
