Engaged Parking Brake Control Lever (1) Parking brake control lever |
The parking brake is a manually operated brake shoe that is engaged by pulling up on parking brake control lever (1). Parking brake control lever (1) is located to the left of the operator's seat. The hand lever has an integral ratcheting detent that can be modulated throughout the range of operation. The parking brake control lever is connected to a cable assembly that operates the parking brake. The parking brake is located on the rear side of the front axle housing.
Engage the parking brake, when the machine is stopped.

In order to disengage the parking brake, press the release button (2) and lower parking brake control lever (1).

Alert indicator (parking brake) (3) alerts the operator when the parking brake is engaged and the direction control lever is in the NEUTRAL position. The alert indicator turns on, when the engine starts. The alert indicator turns off, when the parking brake is disengaged.
There is a limit switch that is attached to the linkage of the parking brake control lever. When the parking brake is engaged, the limit switch activates alert indicator (parking brake) (3). The limit switch automatically shifts the machine into NEUTRAL. The limit switch prevents the operator from driving through the parking brake.
The parking brake must be released while the direction control lever is in the NEUTRAL position before shifting into either FORWARD or REVERSE.

When the parking brake is engaged, lever assembly (1) pulls cable assembly (4). Cable assembly (4) pulls lever assembly (5) in order to engage the parking brake. The parking brake is located on the rear side of the front axle housing.
