Problem:
There have been instances of wires breaking due to insufficient free length of the wiring harness between two clips that secure the harness. The clips securing the harness are at the 117-0438 Rear Propel Pump and at the 111-8275 Thermal Bypass Valve. If the free length is not sufficient between these two clips, the wires may break during normal vibration system operation.
Solution:
Inspect the wiring harness to determine sufficient free length for proper operation. Illustration 1 shows the correct wiring harness configuration. Illustration 2 shows an example of a wiring harness with insufficient free length between the clips. If you determine your wiring harness has insufficient free length, perform the following procedure.
- 1. Disconnect the harness from the ladder clip on the thermal bypass valve.
NOTE: The thermal bypass valve is located at the bottom of the hydraulic tank.
- 2. Connect the harness to the ladder clip on the thermal bypass valve to allow at least 2.5 inches of wiring harness between the thermal bypass valve and the point where the solenoid wires emerge from the harness.
- 3. Inspect the wires to be sure they are no longer too tight.
