PROBLEM
The existing screed can experience tow point hunting. When the grade sensor is mounted on LH or RH screed end gates while paving at slow paving speeds and thin mat thicknesses. Elastic deflection in extender frame causes out of phase movement between sensor mounted on end gate and tow point. This can cause the G/S system to overshoot the tow point ultimately leading to waves in the mat. |
