NOTE: | This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44397" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing ethernet switch 4 can fail on certain 793F CMD Off-Highway Trucks. If the existing switch fails it can cease functioning and potentially damage the attached ethernet cable. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Remove all 341-6783-02 Ethernet Switch and earlier change levels from dealer parts stock. |
1.1 Prepare the truck for rework Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual. ? Raise and pin the truck bed. ? Turn OFF the engine. ? Turn OFF the master power disconnect switch. ? Lockout the engine starter. 1.2 Locate Ethernet Switch 4 ? Switch 4 is located in the back of the truck cab. Refer to Image 1. 1.3 Remove and Replace Switch ? Note the cable connector positions on the switch. ? Remove the cables from the switch. ? Remove the four mounting bolts securing the switch (save the hardware). ? Install the new ethernet switch, change 03 or greater using the existing hardware. ? Reinstall the cable connectors. 1.4 Restore Truck to Service ? Verify the switch and all connectors are secured. ? Ensure all tools are removed. ? Check Switch Power a. With the engine still OFF. b. The lockout for the engine starter still applied. c. Turn ON the master power disconnect switch. d. Visually check the ethernet switch 4 power indicator light turns on (is green) ? Reinstall access covers. ? Restore system per local procedures. |
