Oil Pump

Usage:

Remove Oil Pump

start by:

a) remove fuel transfer pump

1. Remove six bolts (1) and adapter (2).

2. Remove oil pump drive gear (3) from the accessory drive housing.

3. Remove two bolts and clamp (8). Remove bolts (4), (5) and (10). Remove tee (7), tube (6) and oil pressure regulator (9).

4. Fasten a hoist to the oil pump. Remove bolt (12). Remove six bolts (11) that fasten the oil pump to the accessory drive housing. Remove the oil pump. The weight of the oil pump is 110 lb. (49.5 kg).

5. Remove bearing (13) from adapter (2).

Install Oil Pump

1. Install a new gasket between oil pump (1) and accessory drive housing. Inspect and make a replacement of O-ring seal (2) if necessary. Fasten a hoist to the oil pump and install it. Install the six bolts which fasten the pump to the accessory drive. The weight of oil pump is 110 lb. (49.5 kg).

2. Install bolt (3) and remove hoist.

3. Inspect and make a replacement of O-ring seals on the tube, tee and oil pressure regulator. Install tube (5), tee (4) and oil pressure regulator (7). Install clamp (6) with two bolts.

4. Install oil pump drive gear (8) in the accessory drive housing.

5. Use a press and tooling (A) to install the bearing in adapter (9).

6. Install a new gasket between the accessory drive housing and adapter (9). Install the adapter with six bolts.

end by:

a) install fuel transfer pump

Disassemble Oil Pump

start by:

a) remove oil pump

1. Remove bolts (1) and plate (2).

2. Remove bolts (3) and cover (4).

3. Remove nine bolts (5).

4. Make a separation of housing (6), manifold (7) and manifold (8).

5. Remove lip type seal (10) and bearing (9) from housing (6).

6. Remove shaft assembly (13), gears (12) and retainer (11) from manifold (8).

7. Remove two shafts (14) from the manifold with tooling (A) as shown. Remove bearing (15) from the manifold.

8. Use a press and tooling (B) to remove the bearing from retainer (11).

9. Use a press to remove gear (16) from shaft (13).

10. Use a press and tooling (B) to remove the bearings from gears (12).

Assemble Oil Pump

1. Use tooling (A) and a press to install bearing (1) in retainer (2).

2. Install two bearings in each gear (3) with tooling (A) and press. Install the bearings until they are even with the surface of the gear.

3. Lower the temperature of shaft (4). Install the key in the shaft and install the shaft in gear (5) with a press until the gear makes contact with the shoulder on the shaft.

4. Lower the temperature of two shafts (6) and install in manifold (7). Install the bearing in the manifold with tooling (A). The installed bearing must be .030 in. (0.76 mm) below the machined surface of the manifold.

5. Install lip type seal in housing (8) with tooling (A). Install the seal with the seal lip toward the inside of the pump. Put a thin layer of SAE 30 oil on the seal lip.

6. Install the bearing in housing (8) with tooling (A) until the bearing is even with the machined surface of the housing.

7. Install retainer (2) on manifold (7) with five bolts and two locks. Put a thin layer of SAE 30 oil on the gears, bearings and shafts. Install two gears (3) and shaft assembly (4) in the manifold.

8. Install two O-ring seals (10) on manifold (9). Install manifold (7) and housing (8) on manifold.

9. Put a thin layer of SAE 30 oil on the seals in nine washers (12). Install nine bolts (11), washers and seal washers (12) which fasten the manifolds and housing together.

10. Install a new gasket between cover (15) and housing (8). Install the cover with seven bolts (13). Install a new gasket between the cover and plate (14). Install the plate on the cover; with nine bolts.

end by:

a) install oil pump.
