3408 & 3408B DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE Caterpillar

(1) Grease seal:

a. Put a thin layer of grease on the seal lip.

b. Install the seal with the lip toward the bracket, as shown.

(2) Torque for the adjustment bolt ... 75 ± 11 lb.ft.(100 ± 15 N·m)

(3) Torque for the pivot bolt ... 41 ± 7 lb.ft.(55 ± 10 N·m)
