The Hand Pump Group Needs To Be Inspected On Certain CB-434B And CB-534C Compactors Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3356" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3356" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The 1263229 Hand Pump Group needs to be inspected on certain CB-434B and CB-534C Compactors. Compactors that do not have the correct hand pump group (steering control unit) will need to have it replaced.

Dealers will need to order parts for this Program.

1 - 1263229 PUMP GP-HAND

Action Required

Check the number of rotations of the steering wheel from stop to stop. If the number is 10 to 12 (instead of 5 to 6) replace the steering control unit (1263229 Hand Pump Group).

After replacement check the steering pressure. It must be 150 Bar. (Refer To KENR2653)

NOTE: This is a 1-hour job to inspect; or to inspect and replace the pump.

All 1263229 Hand Pump Groups that are removed from the Affected Product must be returned to J.P.Laurent at C.M.R.

All Other Dealers

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
