REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSIONS AVAILABLE FOR C35/45/55 AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS

Announcement

Caterpillar Remanufactured Products Group in cooperation with Caterpillar Agricultural Products Group announces a new product line of remanufactured agricultural transmissions to support dealers' repair options for row-crop tractors, models C35/45/55.

Coverage

The addition of these transmissions provides dealers with an additional repair option to support row-crop tractors. New Challenger row-crop Tractors were offered with a standard "non-creeper" transmission or an optional "creeper" transmission. The "creeper" transmission features an additional 10 to 1 gear reduction and slower operating speeds while maintaining engine RPM. Please consult your NPR for exact model coverage.

Caterpillar remanufactured transmissions offer dealers an additional repair option to meet the needs of agricultural customers, and provides an excellent value to your customers. Dealers can service customer's needs with a quality-remanufactured product with off-the-shelf availability without the need to maintain inventory and provide costly updates. Customers can purchase a remanufactured transmission and be back to work in a minimum of downtime. Both dealers and customers are assured of getting a quality remanufactured product, built and tested to the highest standards.

Core Attrition Policy

These transmissions are administered under the REMAN major component core attritioning policy that became effective January 1, 1998. This policy requires core returns within specific time limits or risks the loss of the core deposit. See IRM REM97-26, PELE0584 December 1997 and Cat REMAN Newsletter, Issue 16, December 1997 for complete details.

Core Acceptance

Core acceptance for the Caterpillar Remanufactured Agricultural Transmissions is a simple, visual check and a turn of the input and output shaft by hand. No disassembly of the transmission is required to determine core credit. Transmissions with known failures to transmit power in all gears are accepted as partial credit.
