Usage:
If the steering control unit (SCU) drive is not timed correctly, the machine can turn in the opposite direction as the steering wheel. To prevent personal injury, loss of life and/or property damage, make sure the drive is timed as follows. |
Pin (1) and the groove of the drive shaft must be aligned with the root of rotor (2) as shown during assembly.
Tighten seven bolts in sequence shown to an initial torque of ... 17 N·m (12 lb ft)
Then tighten bolts in sequence to a final torque of ... 35 N·m (25 lb ft)
(3) Torque for set screw (not shown) ... 15 N·m (11 lb ft)
NOTE: Set screw (3) is used to contain check valve in the standard steering housing.
(4) Torque for two bolts ... 29 N·m (23 lb ft)
Steering Relief Valve
Torque for relief valve (not shown) ... 40 to 45 N·m (30 to 35 lb ft)
Relief valve setting (adjustable) ... 13 800 (2000 psi)
NOTE: 1/2 turn on relief valve adjustment equals 2050 kPa (300 psi)
