Note: Refer to Table 1 for the correct ECM that is installed on the machine to gather the correct flash files.

    1. Launch SIS Web and ensure that the new flash file part number is the latest flash file part number prior to service trip. A newer flash file part number may be available.

Note: Additional information, including a list of Product Link flash files, is available on the "Service Technician Toolbox" web page found on dealer.cat.com. Go to https://dealer.cat.com/pl -> Product Support -> Service Technician Toolbox.

    1. Make sure that the PC drivers and CA3 firmware have been updated before using Communications Adapter 3 (CA3).

Note: CA3 news, drivers, and firmware are available at "https://dealer.cat.com".

    1. Use the latest version of Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) for the optimal machine software support and use "WinFlash" to flash the new software onto the Module.

PL522 Product Link Improvements and Enhancements

The Product Link Improvements and Enhancements for the PL522 platform are listed below:

    • Added the J1939 diagnostic support for the PL522 module.

    • The Lifetime Total Payload Weight and Total Machine Operation Cycle Count is now supported with the PL522 module.

Note: Cycle count will only be seen on machines that support cycle count.

    • Reduces the quantity of fuel burn spikes reported to VisionLink. A fuel burn spike is a fuel rate in excess of 100 gals/hour (400 liters/hour). The battery-backed random access memory (BBRAM) had a storage corruption issue that was occurred in 392-0726 Communication Software Gp or earlier and resulted in incorrect reporting of fuel data due to duplicated ECM data.

Note: It is important that both the radio and the gateway software are flashed. Submit a field support case to have the Radio flashed over the air after the Gateway software has been downloaded and installed.
