Piston Cooling Jets
- Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- If necessary, remove components for access to the side covers.

- Rotate the engine to position the piston toward top dead center for easy access. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Finding Top Center position for No. 1 Piston".
- Remove bolts (1). Remove side cover (2).

Illustration 2 g02400820 - Remove bolts (3). Remove piston cooling jet (4). Mark the location of dowel (5).
- Repeat Steps 2 through 5 for the remaining piston cooling jets.
- Rotate the engine to position the piston toward top dead center for easy access. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Finding Top Center position for No. 1 Piston".

Illustration 3 g02400820 Note: Point dowel (5) toward the connecting rod as shown. If, dowel (5) is pointed toward the crankshaft main will cause improper spray.
- Install piston cooling jet (4) with dowel (5) pointed inward toward the connecting rod. Install bolts (3).

- If necessary, install components removed for access to the side covers.
- Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for the remaining piston cooling jets.
- Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
