Usage:

3208 Truck Engines (32Y1-Up, 40S1-Up)

SUPPLEMENT: 05/19/82

TRUCK ENGINE NEWS, MARCH 31,1982, PAGE 3. In the article "New Regulator Group Increases Coolant Flow To Cab Heater, Prevents Overcooling, " the serial number given in the last sentence of the third paragraph is not correct. Change "32Y96291-Up" to "32Y92691-Up."

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

The new 2W882 Regulator Group is available for installation in 3208 Truck Engines (32Y1-Up, 40S1-Up). Installation of the new regulator group will increase the coolant flow to the cab heater and will prevent engine overcooling (operation at temperatures below normal) during cold weather.

The components of the 2W882 Regulator Group are shown in the chart.

Some engine modifications are necessary. On engines 40S1-Up and 32Y1-32Y92690, the shunt hose must be moved to a different location and new components installed to prevent reverse coolant flow. On engines 32Y96291-Up, the shunt line changes are not necessary.

Modification of some 8N2581 or 8N2598 Regulator Housing Covers will be necessary to get clearance for the regulator bypass washer.

There are two errors in the Special Instruction that must be corrected. Change "32Y92501-Up, to "32Y92691-Up" in the note on Page 1. In Step 2 on Page 1, change "32Y1-32Y8137" to "32Y1-32Y81371."
