G3520C (S/N: GZJ1-UP; GZL1-UP; GZM1-UP; GZN1-UP; B9P1-UP; HAT1-UP; CWW1-UP; CWY1-UP; GDB1-UP; GHC1-UP; GHE1-UP; JBZ1-UP)

Description of Change: Improved engine software is now used in the above G3520C Generator Set Engines.

The new software contains improvements in the event and diagnostic monitoring for engine oil pressure during cold weather operation. The software also includes the following improvements:

• Improved diagnostics for the generator output power sensor

• Addition of a new diagnostic code that reports a loss of signal for the generator's output power sensor (1719-9)

• Improvements in the software for detonation protection

• Improved accuracy for detection of the secondary voltage

Note: The use of software version 2006A, or a version that is newer for Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) is required.

Adaptable To: This software release supports the new 256-7635 Engine Electronic Control Gp. This software release is compatible with the 209-5500 Engine Electronic Control Gp that is used on G3520C Gas Engines. Refer to Table 1 for a complete listing of the new part numbers and the former part numbers for the flash files that are for these Electronic Control Modules (ECM).
