Service Magazine, SEPD1299, 08 July 2011, "Rack Back Bucket stops Adjustment on 950H through 972H Wheel Loaders". The information in this article has been updated. Refer to the following information.

ReferenceService Magazine, SEPD0944, "Adjustment Procedure for Bucket Stops on Dealer Installed Buckets or for Reducing Bucket Movement and Material Spillage "

Normal manufacturing tolerances contribute to the occasional gap between the rack back bucket stops and lift arm on 950H through 972H Wheel Loaders equipped with CAT buckets. The tolerance stack up of small variations in pin locations, bucket dimensions, and tilt cylinder extensions all add up. This tolerance stack up creates a gap between bucket and lift arm at some carry positions. The gap may contribute to bucket shaking while the machine is traveling and may generate loss of material in load and carry applications. Contact on one bucket stop should be sufficient to load the lever and lock the bucket as tight as possible. However, contact on both stops is preferable due to bucket twisting.

There has been an increase to the tilt cylinder stroke of 3 mm (0.118 inch) on cylinder groups shown in Table 1. This increase in stroke is to tighten up the tolerance and reduce gap between the rack back stops and lift arms.
