Usage:
1. Drain the coolant in the cooling system to a level below the water temperature regulator.
2. Loosen the clamp, and disconnect the radiator hose from elbow (1).
3. Remove bolts (2), elbow (1), the water temperature regulator and gasket.
4. Remove gasket (3) and water temperature regulator (4) from elbow (1).
Install Water Temperature Regulator
1. Clean all gasket material and rust from the contact surfaces of the elbow and timing gear cover.

The engine will run hot if the water temperature regulator is installed wrong. |
2. Install water temperature regulator (1) down in the counterbore of elbow (2) with the vent hole up.

Make sure the vent hole is open, and do not use liquid gasket material on the gasket. The cylinder head can be damaged if the vent hole is not open. |
3. Put gasket (3) and elbow (2) in position, and install the bolts that hold it.
4. Put the radiator hose in position on the elbow, and tighten the clamp.
5. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.
