Product Support Program For Replacing Hydraulic Hose Assemblies That Blister On Certain 320B Excavators Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS50129" as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The hydraulic hose assembly may blister and needs to be replaced on certain 320B Excavators. The hydraulic hose assemblies (mainly with XT-3 and XT-5 hose) suffered from oil blisters formed on the surface of the bulk hoses, at an unacceptable life.

NOTE: Part numbers listed above are for hose assemblies using XT-5-16 and XT-5-12 only, for part numbers to make XT-3 and other hose types assemblies, refer to HAS or the Caterpillar Hose Fabrication Guide.

NOTE: Actual Parts Needed will vary from machine to machine. List only the part numbers and quantities of bulk hose (in centimeter), stems, sleeves, couplings and seals used to make replacements for failed hose assemblies in dealer warranty claims.

Action Required

Replace all failed (blistering, leaking, swollen and burst) XT-3 and XT-5 Hose Assemblies with the corresponding dealer assembled hose assemblies.
