Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove cooling system package.

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes.

  1. Unbolt fuel pump assembly (1) and place out of the way. Unbolt valve assembly (2) and place out of the way.

  2. Attach a suitable lifting device to fan group (3). The weight of fan group (3) is approximately 81 kg (179 lb).

  3. Remove bolts (4). Repeat for other side. Remove fan group (3).

  4. Position fan group (3) onto suitable cribbing. Remove bolts (5) and fan (6).

  5. Remove nut (7).

  6. Use Tooling (A) to remove adaptor (8).

  7. Reposition fan group (3).

  8. Disconnect hose assembly (11). Remove bolts (9) and motor assembly (10)

Installation Procedure

  1. Install fan group (3) in reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (B) to nut (7). Torque nut (7) to a torque of 200 ± 30 N·m (148 ± 22 lb ft).
