Description of Change: The improved engine oil lines groups offer improved clamp joints for their respective oil cooler bypass tube.
Adaptable To: The improved engine oil lines groups are adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above.
Refer to Table 1 for the affected engine oil lines group numbers.

Installation Instructions
Refer to Illustration 1 for the location of the oil cooler bypass tube that will be reworked.

(1) Oil cooler bypass tube |
- Remove plugs (2) and (3) in order to drain the oil into a suitable container.

- Remove bolts (4), washers (5) and retainers (6). Slide the oil cooler bypass tube out.
Note: The washers are the only reusable parts.

- Remove the flange (8). Discard the retaining ring (7) and all of the O-ring seals.
- Install the flange (9) and the ring (10) as shown in Illustration 5.
Note: The inside diameter of the flange (9 ) is tapered. The flange must be positioned on the tube with the large end of the taper toward the end.

- Install the O-ring (11) onto the tube end. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil. Press the tube end into the flange (8) that was removed. Do not force the tube to the bottom of the flange. Leave some space (A). Do not pinch or roll the O-ring.
Note: Ensure the O-ring (11) and mating surface are lubricated.

- Install the oil bypass tube
Note: Use retention compound on the O-ring (12) .
- Using retention compound, install the O-ring (12) to the face of the flange (8) .
- Slide the tube into position and start the bolts (13) .
Note: Ensure that the O-rings do not fall out or become pinched.
- Torque the bolts (13) to 55 ± 10 N·m (41 ± 7 lb ft).
