Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Tilt the cab.

At operating temperature, the hydraulic tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin. Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the filler cap slowly in order to relieve pressure.

1. Loosen retaining nut (1) and disconnect tee (2) from pump control valve (4).

2. Remove four bolts (3) that secure pump control valve (4) to the piston pump. Remove the pump control valve from the piston pump.

3. Remove three O-ring seals (5) from pump control valve (4).

Installation Procedure

1. Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Install three O-ring seals (5) into pump control valve (4).

3. Position pump control valve (4) to the piston pump and install four bolts (3).

4. Connect tee (2) to the valve and tighten retaining nut (1).
