The Articulated Truck is an earthmoving machine. The Articulated Truck is classified as a dumper as described in ISO 6165:2012. This is a self-propelled wheeled machine with an articulation frame in order to steer. This dumper has an open body that is intended for the following applications under normal conditions: transporting loose material and dumping loose material

Use the machine only in environments that do not contain explosive gases.
General Operating Restrictions
If this machine is used for purposes, other than areas described above, or in potentially dangerous environments, then special safety regulations must be followed. Consult your Cat dealer for more information. For example:
- Flammable environments
- Areas with dust containing asbestos
- miscellaneous
Use only in a non-explosive gas environment.
Do not use to spread the load by raising the dump body while the machine is moving.
Do not raise the empty or laden dump body when the machine is on an upward slope, as the truck could tip backward.
Avoid conditions that can lead to tipping the machine. The machine can tip when you work on hills, banks and on upward and side slopes. The machine can tip when you cross ditches, ridges, or other unexpected obstacles.
Avoid operating the machine across a slope as there are many factors that can adversely affect stability and for that reason Caterpillar does not provide date for such operations.
The specifications may vary depending on the configuration and the options.

Caterpillar can provide machine center of gravity information to help determine stability and tip over limits. When requesting center of gravity locations, provide an accurate description of the machines consist, as attachments will affect these figures. Load and load placement have a significant impact on the stability of the loaded machine.
725C Operating Restrictions | Grade |
Maximum Working Grade(1) | 30% |
Service Brake Holding Capability(2) | 30% |
Parking Brake Holding Capability (2) | 30% |
(1) | There are many variables to consider when operating on a grade. For example: grades that can be partially side sloped and can be soft, hard, wet, dry, loose, firm, graded, not graded, and frozen. Such variability will affect traction and rolling resistance and the individual circumstances must be considered before operating on any grade. |
(2) | The listed restriction assumes that the brake components are within working specifications, the machine mass is at maximum allowable, a graded ground surface, and a dry, firm underfoot. The machine operator is responsible for evaluating the condition of the machine, the environment, and using appropriate judgment to maintain control of the machine. |
A specific set of regulations may apply to underground operations and may require special equipment. Consult for Cat dealer.
Environments Hazardous to Health
Avoid exposure to dust containing crystalline silicon dioxide, as the dust may seriously damage the lungs (silicosis).
