The nonpressurized hydraulic oil tank is located at the rear of the engine compartment. Oil is added to the tank through cap (1). A diffuser in the return line (4) is mounted inside the tank. The diffuser helps to minimize turbulence in the return oil as the oil enters the tank.

The sight gauge (2) is on the left side of the loader tower. Refer to the operation and maintenance manual for the proper level of the oil in the tank.

The outlet (3) for the tank is connected to the pump (11). The outlet for the tank is located at the bottom, rear of the hydraulic tank.

The tank has three ports on the rear side.

  • Return for the Pump Case (6)

  • Return for the Metering Pump (8)

(10) Drain valve

(11) Pump

A drain valve (10) on the pump allows the hydraulic tank to be drained.

The hydraulic oil filter (9) is mounted on the left side frame of the machine next to the rear axle assembly. The filter is accessed under the machine.

A back pressure check valve is located on the inlet side of the base for the hydraulic oil filter. The back pressure valve reduces cavitation in the cylinders.

A check valve for the cooler bypass is located in the outlet side of the filter. The check valve provides oil to the oil cooler until enough pressure is achieved in order to bypass the oil cooler. If the oil bypasses the cooler, the oil goes to the tank. The check valve for the cooler bypass protects the oil cooler from high pressure spikes. If equipped, the filter assembly also has return ports for the ride control valve and the return for the hammer.
