Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified. The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped. Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine. |

- Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.
- Move propulsion lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

- Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

- Move throttle switch (3) to the LOW IDLE position.

- Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

- Raise the cab. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR6413, "Cab - Tilt".
- Disconnect tie rod (5) .

- Disconnect electrical connector (6) for the neutral start switch.

- Insert Tool (B) into pin "1" of electrical connector (6) .
- Insert Tool (C) into pin "2" of electrical connector (6).
- Connect Tool (B) to Tool (A).
- Connect Tool (C) to Tool (A) .
- Set Tool (A) to measure continuity.
- Ensure that direction control valve (7) on the axle pump is in the NEUTRAL position.

- Loosen locknut (9). If necessary, rotate neutral start switch (8) counterclockwise until the circuit across the switch is open.

- Rotate neutral start switch (8) clockwise until the circuit across the switch just closes.
- Hold neutral start switch (8). Tighten locknut (9) .
- Remove Tool (B) and Tool (C) .
- Reconnect electrical connector (6) for the neutral start switch.
- Install tie rod (5) .
- Lower the cab. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR6413, "Cab - Tilt".
- Move engine start switch (4) to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts. If the engine will not start, go to Step 6. If the engine starts, go to Step 23.
- Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.
- Move propulsion lever (1) slightly out of NEUTRAL and into the FORWARD range.
- Move engine start switch (4) to the START position. If the engine starts, immediately stop the engine, and go to Step 6. If the engine does not start, move the engine start switch to the OFF position. Move propulsion lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.
- Move propulsion lever (1) slightly out of NEUTRAL and into the REVERSE range.
- Move engine start switch (4) to the START position. If the engine starts, immediately stop the engine, and go to Step 6. If the engine does not start, move the engine start switch to the OFF position. Move propulsion lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.
