Correction to Disassembly and Assembly , "Main Control Valve - Assemble" {5051}

Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4675, "R1700G Load Haul Dump Machine Systems", "Main Control Valve - Assemble". This module is part of Service Manual, RENR4656 Volume II.

The existing information in this module has been updated. Add the following supplemental information to the module that is referenced. Refer to "Assembly Procedure"

Assembly Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Note: Check O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Note: Lubricate all internal components with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  1. Install the washer, bolt (47), shim pack (46), retainer (45), shim pack (44), spring (43), spring (42), retainer (41), shims (40), and spool (39) on lift valve spool (38) .

  1. Install tilt valve spool assembly (37) .

  1. Install lift valve spool assembly (38) .

  1. Install two housings (33) and the O-ring seals. Tighten four bolts (34) to a torque of 35 ± 3 N·m (26 ± 2 lb ft).

  1. Install two housings (36) and the O-ring seals. Tighten four bolts (35) to a torque of 35 ± 3 N·m (26 ± 2 lb ft).

  1. Assemble makeup valve (27) .

  1. Install fitting (32) and O-ring seal (30) to makeup valve plug (31) .

  1. Install valve (28), spring (29) and makeup valve plug (31) in the valve body.

  1. Assemble check valve (23) .

  1. Install O-ring seals (24) to three load check valves (23) .

  1. Install three check valve (26), springs (25) and check valves (23) .

  1. Assemble main relief valve (14) .

  1. Install O-ring seals (15), O-ring seal (16) to body (18) .

  1. Install O-ring seal (17) to cap (21) .

  1. Install valve (19), spring (20) and cap (21) to body (18) .

  1. Install main relief valve (14). Tighten main relief valve (14) to a torque of 110 ± 10 N·m (80 ± 7 lb ft).

  1. Assemble O-ring seal (4), O-ring seal (5), locknut (7), retainer (8), O-ring seal (6), washer (13), spring (12), plate (11), valve (10), and valve body (9) to relief valve (2) .

  1. Assemble O-ring seal (4), O-ring seal (5), locknut (7), retainer (8), O-ring seal (6), spring (12), plate (11), valve (10), and valve body (9) to relief valve (1) .

  1. Install tilt cylinder rod end relief valve (1) and tilt cylinder head end relief valve (2). Tighten the two relief valves to a torque of 65 ± 5 N·m (48 ± 4 lb ft).
