- Stop the engine.

- Remove the engine air precleaner.
- Inspect the precleaner inlet screen for dirt and for trash. If the screen is dirty, clean the screen with compressed air.
- Check the air intake precleaner rotor operation.
- Periodically remove the precleaner and wash in water.
